An architectural symbol of Chongqing, the hall was built in 1951 and designed in the traditional symmetrical and beautifully-proportioned style of Ming and Qing dynasties' palaces. The hall is five-story rotunda and has an area of 18500 square meters and 65m high & 46m in diameter. It contains a 4000-seat auditorium.
