Chongshan Monastery was built during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and is located in the northeast of Taiyuan.
The main hall of Chongshan Monastery is decorated with many scrolls and relics and has an impressive large statue of Guanyin, goddess of mercy. The monastery also houses scriptures and books dating back to the 10th century.
