Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous Region, neighbors on Guangdong Province, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Macao SAR. Facing the Southeast Asia and backing on the vast land of the vast southwest China, Nanning has become the hub of the vast southwestern region’s passage to the sea, and is gradually emerging as a regional and logistic center to a larger sense in southwestern China.

Nanning,“Yong”for short, has a long history and a rich cultural heritage. Dating back some 1,1600 years ago, in 318A.D., Nanning was first established as a prefecture, which was the start of Nanning becoming an officially administrated area. In 634A.D., Emperor of Tang Dynasty, Tang Tai Zong, named the city“Yong Zhou”(meaning the County of Yong). In 1314A.D., the central government of Yuan Dynasty named the city “Nanning”(meaning peaceful south), in the hope that the south would remain in peace.

Nanning belongs to the subtropical monsoon zone, which brings sunshine and plenty of rainfall, with little frost or snow. The long humid summers and short dry winters have promised Nanning with a temperate climate in general. The average temperature around a year is 21°C, the rainfall averages 1300mm a year and the average relative humidity is 79%. Nanning is rendered with the name “China’s Green City”.

Nanjing has a population of 620,000. More than 60% of the population in Nanning are Zhuang people, who are China's largest minority and virtually indistinguishable from Han. Zhuang people are famous for singing their way through life.They sing of love,of longing, of play, of work, of sadness, of happiness, of celebration and of mourning. They sing to urge guess to drink at parties and to urge the gods to send rain for the crops. The Zhuangs also challenge each other's wit with antiphonal songs. Every spring and autumn, young people dress up and gather together to sing such songs at the "Singing Festival". The much different people are Miao and Dong who usually sell silver bracelets and earrings on the streets.

Major scenic attractions include the People's Park and Yiling Rock.
