Foshan is located at the hinterland of Zhujiang Delta and south central region of Guangdong Province Benefited from its superior geographic location, Foshan faces Guangzhou City eastwards, connects Zhaoqing, Zhuhai and Qingyuan westwards, southwards and northwards, respectively. In addition, it features luxuriant land, mild temperature and adequate rainfall as well as evergreen landscape. It has a subtropical monsoon humid climate, with its average annual temperature of 22.1℃ and rainfall of 1600-2000 mm. Its natural resources are mainly composed of pottery clay, rock, glass sand, rare metal, pond fish, paddy rice, sugarcane as well as a variety of fruits and flowers, etc. The total area of Foshan amounts to 3813.64 sq.km., of which the Chancheng District area reaches 153.69 sq.km. As a famous emigrant city, it has a total population of 3358.5 thousand, of which there are 800.8 thousand dwellers in the urban area (Chancheng District).

Foshan, a famous city of long cultural history, ranked as one of the "Four Famous Towns" at the national level in Ming and Qing Dynasty, coupled with numerous traders and smoothly circulated materials.
