Beihai City is located at the southern end of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and on the northeastern bank of the Beibu Gulf. As early as 2000 years ago, Beihai was active in China's foreign economy and port trade. Beihai has a good geographical surrounding. Backed by the great southwest region of China, it faces the Southeast Asia, with Guangdong Province, Hainan Island, Hong Kong, Macao, and Vietnam close by.Beihai is one of the nearest ports from China mainland to the port cites in Southeast Asia, West Asia, Africa, and Europe and thus is the most convenient gateway to sea for China's southwest region and part of the areas in southern and central China.

Beihai is rich in natural resources such as seaports, fresh water, land, tourism, marine products, minerals, oil and natural gas, especially in those of comprehensive subtropical resources.

Beihai has a very advantageous environment for investment. In recent years, the city has focused construction on railway, seaport, airport, highway, power supply, water supply, communication, system of drains and other infrastructure. At present, its highways radiate in all directions. The port's handling capacity has been further promoted, and airport extension is proceeding smoothly. The city of Beihai has basically formed a system of three-dimensional communications by land, air, and sea, and thus become a major gateway to the sea for Southwest China and some parts of South China.

Beihai is The beautiful seaside city. The silver beach appears like a long riband, that is called Silver Beach. The flat beach stretches to the horizon, the beach near the sea is brown; farther away the sea, whiter the sand is. The colors of the seawater transit from cream-colored, cyan, green to deep blue. The calm sea extends forth without boundary; the fishing boats float on the further sea, showing a strong atmosphere of life.
