Guangdong Province, also known as Yue in short, is located in southern China, facing the South China Sea, and neighboring Hong Kong and Macao in the south. It covers an area of 179,000 square kilometers and has a population of 67.89 million. Guangzhou in the middle of Guangdong is the capital.

Guangzhou is an ancient city with a history of 2800 years. It is named "the spring city" because with long summer the city is always with green plants and blooming with fresh flowers all years round. Myth legend tells of Guangzhou was founded by Five Immortals riding five rams, each ram planted a stalks of rice grain which symbolizes abundant of harvest or prosperity. And this is how Guangzhou got its nickname, "Yang Cheng" literally means "Goat City".

Guangzhou provides traveler with their first taste of mainland China, thus resulting in also been the first place of mainland China where foreign influences enters into the country.

Guangdong is located on the sub-tropical zone. It has a mild climate with enough, pleasant sunshine, and its annual mean temperature is 22℃. The province has beautiful natural landscape, historical sites, and hundreds of places of interest. The state-level ancient cultural cities include Guangzhou, Chaozhou, Zhaoqing, Foshan, Meizhou, and Leizhou. The most famous tourist attractions are the Seven-Star Rock in Zhaoqing, Mt. Danxia in northern Guangdong, Mt. Xiqiao close to the South China Sea, Mt. Luofu in Boluo, and Mt. Binghu in Zhaoqing, as well as the Splendid China, the Window of the World, and the National Folklore Cultural Village.

In recent years, Guangdong has developed a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Tourist Triangle, attracting numerous visitors from home and abroad. Guangdong is ready to welcome friends from all parts of the world.
